Welcome
Hello, I'm Ron, the author of the Cinderella's Secret Witch Diaries, A Witch's Coven Novels, the Jovian Gate Chronicles series, the Werewhale Saga, The Red Door Diaries, and The Godlings series. On this site, you can learn more about the books I've written and also read through my blog in which I share my thoughts on writing and life. This page will give you a quick breakdown of who I am and what you can expect.
I believe that, no matter how difficult our childhood, we can use imaginative stories to heal ourselves and lead lives filled with love and hope.
I started writing stories back when I was 9 years old and have never stopped. Having been raised in a twice divorced home, I lived through some difficult times as a kid. I discovered at an early age that by using my imagination and creativity I could rise above the dysfunction around me, not just escape, but thrive and find healing.
The questions that I answer in my blog are:
How do you overcome failure and adversity?
What does it take to raise a family, work full-time and write?
How do you not repeat the unhealthy family behaviors that you grew up with and be happy?
I publish a new blog post as often as I can (I've needed to pull back to work on my books) and write a new novel every year. I'm passionate about creativity, the imagination and how we can use these to help us in our daily lives. As an INFJ (introversion, intuition, feeling, judging) Myers-Briggs personality type, I see the world in a pretty unique way. I like to pull from my imagination and juxtapose it with the real world so that I can lay bare the source of a problem and use stories as a means of emotional healing. It's all about the journey for me and not the destination.

Who am I?
I grew up in the northeastern part of Philadelphia and embraced at a young age all things geeky and uncool. Nourished on Tolkien, Star Wars and Doctor Who, I played with fake cardboard lightsabers and was an avid Dungeons & Dragons player. Yet the worlds that I created in my early stories took a drastic turn when my mother introduced me to the PBS Anne of Green Gables series back in the mid ‘80s.
I embraced L.M. Montgomery's books of Anne Shirley and knew that, although I enjoyed fantasy and science fiction, I wanted my characters to come to life with real emotion. A few years later I wrote my first novel, Dorothea's Song, taking what I'd learn from all the fantasy books I'd read and adding a dose of real life to the premise. (That book sat on a shelf until 2008 when I found the courage to rewrite and then publish it.)
In graduate school, I completed my academic career by writing my thesis on a comparative study of Margaret Atwood and Alice Walker. I wanted to show how the heroines in their books have the courage to tell their stories of abuse to free themselves and find healing to become stronger and more self-confident women. And that's a theme that I've carried close to me in all of my writing. My books are not simply about magic, elves and fairies, but get to the heart of what it means to be alive—to feel, grow, be hurt and to love.
I embrace my love of fantasy and science fiction, mixing it with a healthy dose of self-reflection by embracing works from Brené Brown and Paulo Coelho. I keep myself busy writing, training for half-marathons (though I do have three full marathons under my belt) and on learning how to be a good husband to an extremely patient wife while, together, we do our best to raise our two children.
I invite you to come on a journey of imagination and self-growth with me. Together, we'll both learn something new.
