Day 369: Stop Running from Yourself

When we try to run from ourselves and ignore how we feel, we’re only doing a disservice to ourselves. Sooner or later we’re going to have to face our feelings.

If you stop and take stock of who you are, what you are feeling, and what you want in life, the answers that come to you might be overwhelming.

To grow means to go beyond who we are today.

Fear, shame, guilt, anger, and self-hate are some of the feelings that can be stirred up when you stop to reflect.

If the dysfunctional behaviors you learned from childhood are holding you back in your relationships and in your life, there is a tendency to be angry at how you feel and what you’re experiencing. But the more that we run or ignore our feelings, the harder we will fall.

What behaviors do you want to change?

Who are you, what do you want, and how will you get there?

Hard questions, I know.

But not impossible ones. We can run and ignore how we feel, or we can take the steps to work on choosing to grow and heal.

The choice has always been ours.

What will you do today?
