Day 372: Your Purpose
What makes you sing inside? What skill, thought, goodness, love, strength, or sense of your creation that you have to do and be?
The purpose that I have in my life and that you have are probably different.
My core me can be summed up as:
I believe that, no matter how difficult our childhood, we can use imaginative stories to heal ourselves and lead lives filled with love and hope.
As human beings, we tell stories. And when we share those stories, we’re sharing a piece of ourselves. We’re being vulnerable yet strong, and there isn’t anything or anyone who can take that from us.
When you go about your day and you’re taking the trash out, or doing your wash, or throwing your junk mail out, it’s easy to be wrapped up in the minutiae of each and every day.
But who are you? What is your purpose? Do you know it? Have you yet to discover it?
Or maybe you don’t believe in any of this and you have a different point-of-view?
Again, my vision and yours are not the same.
The way we were damaged and injured in growing up in an alcoholic or dysfunctional family is different, but I bet we’d see similarities in how we respond to stress and anxiety.
If you do not know what you’re meant to do in life, then where do you want to go? What do you want to do?
We can label ourselves as being damaged and always think that we’re not enough. That there’s something wrong with us at our core. If we allow ourselves to believe that falsehood, then how could we ever find our voice?
We will continue to be crying inside and no one will hear us. What if we use our voice, let our feelings out, and strive to be healthy, set strong boundaries, but not ones that are impenetrable? Boundaries that help us grow, find love, and to see through the darkness into the voice of what we’re meant to do in life.
Our mission, our soul, our life—when will you choose to start living it?
Why not now?
