Day 92: Surrender to Joy
There’s a lot of hard work to do on ourselves. If you grew up in an alcoholic and dysfunctional family, there is a laundry list of issues that we need to work on.
But life isn’t all about work.
Life isn’t all about optimizing the moment to make certain that we’re enhancing ourselves to be free.
No.
Sometimes we just need to laugh.
Embrace the day. Stop, look around, and take in the beauty of the world.
If you can get out into nature, go for a walk (with no phone and no music on).
Surrender to joy.
What does that mean?
Have you ever been having fun and then a rogue thought will cross through your mind: “What if something bad happens?”
It’s as though we’re not able to have fun without a consequence. We wait for the other shoe to drop.
What if we could put the negativity and fear out of our minds and enjoy the moment?
Surrender to joy.
The world is such a beautiful and varied place with billions of people and lots of places to visit. A walk down your street to a new store or visiting a friend whose daughter just had a baby or going to a museum to see an exhibition can unlock joy from within.
If you’re wound up like a top, take a deep breath, go enjoy some fun, and unwind.
You’re allowed to have fun.
Give yourself permission.
Surrender to joy.
