Day 241: Have Fun and Play
I’m really bad at taking time to play and have fun. Normally, I load up all the work I need to do, throw myself all into that, and then have a few moments of fun, and then the day is over. I get a lot of work done, but I often put other people’s needs in front of my own. That’s not a good thing to do as I experience burnout and have also had to deal with resentment.
A better path would be to carve time out each day and have fun.
Fun for me may not be fun for you.
I like to read, cook, garden, play games, but also clean bathrooms. Listening to a podcast and cleaning is one of my favorite things to do.
I think it has to do with chaos and how I like to try to control it.
If a bathroom is dirty, I like cleaning it so that it’s in order. Maybe that has a lot to do with what I couldn’t control in my life as a kid.
What about you?
What can you do today that would be fun for you?
Are you able to let go, put up a boundary, have fun, and then not feel guilty about it?
Let’s try together.
