We cannot resist change. We can try, but if we do so, our own livelihood and well-being will be put at risk.
Change is not easy and often comes when we least want it.
Growing up in an alcoholic/dysfunctional family, I wanted to control change. I wanted to set the rules for what changes and when.
But that’s not how life works.
What I found so difficult over the years is trying to keep up with the immensity of change in my life. We have technological change beyond anything that people have ever seen before.
We have our own change with jobs, our society, and within our own families.
Change can be so hard to accept and often comes when we don’t want it.
We can choose to bend in the wind and accept the change, or we can resist.
The more we resist and fight against change, the harder our lives will be.
The question I ask myself is not how I can avoid change, but I want to embrace healthy change. I want to grow and learn from my mistakes and build up what I have learned in my life.
We can continue to resist and stick with the pain and suffering that we’ve dealt with all our lives, or we can try a new way.
Every morning when we wake up we have an opportunity to grow, mature, and start again.
