Sometimes the answer is right in front of your nose, but we don’t want to see it.
When the world is throwing lots of problems your way, stress is at its greatest, and you’re not sure what to do, take time to find some clarity.
That might sound easier than to put into practice, but making time to relax and to listen to what you need is critical.
When someone pushes you to make a decision, negotiate more time if you need it.
Take the time you need because reacting to a problem is not going to solve your problem any faster. Instead, you might go down a path that is more harmful to you.
Go outside, listen to the birds chirping, or the falling rain, or go for a walk.
This past weekend I went for an early morning run. I stood at the opening to a trail and listened to the chirping birds and felt the rising sun on my face.
Clarity is essential to have in life.
If we’re pushed to react, we might make decisions that will not be our best.
And many times in life, we’re pushed to move forward faster than we might want. The rush to move ahead is all around us.
What if we could take more time to listen, reflect, and process what we are living through?
Having grown up in a dysfunctional family, people in my family pushed buttons to get others to respond a certain way. But taking time to disengage and think through a problem, will change your life.
You’ll be taking ownership of your decisions because you’re taking action on your terms and not jumping through hoops by reacting.
Taking time for yourself to make a good decision is critical and a good way of building boundaries for yourself.
I have found that when I am relaxed and at peace is when clarity comes. I know the path forward because I feel confident in that I’m not being coerced into making a decision and I’m not jumping to react out of fear.
Today think about who you are, what you want, and where you want to be.
It’s your life.
No one else’s.
