Day 281: Reset and Rejuvenate

Today I’d like you to take a journey with me. We’re going to put aside our normal reflections and we’re going to take a walk through the forest. If you’re lucky enough to get outside and go for a walk in the outdoors, then I invite you to do so.

If you’re not able to get out, then I have you covered. I’d like to share with you a more than 3 hour video I found of walking through a forest. Our goal today is to imagine that we’re out of our home, taking a walk through a beautiful forest, and reconnecting with nature.

To start, sit down in a comfortable position, have the video near you, and hit play. As you’re listening to the music and watching the video, imagine yourself on the trail with the trees overhead

And for those of you who don’t have a video, let’s close our eyes and imagine the crunch of the foliage underneath our boots. The fresh smell of pine in the air and the cool breeze as the wind blows through the area and rustles the leaves overhead.

Today we are green. We will imagine ourselves in the forest, walking there, using the gift of the sun’s light to energize use, and wash us clean from our fear and worry.

We can sit here and go on this journey using our creativity and imagination.

The goal of today is to reconnect our bodies to nature and let go of the stress and our problems. We want to feel the bark of a tree, taste the bead of salty sweat that drips from our brow after our long hike, and to take a few minutes to be still. Can we hear birds chirping around us? Is that a squirrel running across a tree limb?

For a long time, we have struggle with our past, our trauma, and problems. What if we take time out to rest and to rejuvenate?

Imagine if you were to take 15 minutes a day to reconnect and rest.

I ask you today to make time for yourself and to be free.
