Day 125: Let's Be Heroes

I went on a long run this morning, and although spring, it was cold outside. I had my winter gear on and ran on my normal 9-mile route as I tried not to think about the Coronavirus and the impact the virus was having on the world.

When problems surround us, do we withdraw from the world, or do we work to be a beacon of light in the dark?

I have not been sleeping well and doing my best in dealing with anxiety and stress.

About halfway through my run, I stopped to watch the sunrise. The sun shone between two trees, and I spotted a patch of grass with some beautiful purple flowers. I stopped, crouched down, and took a picture. For that brief moment, I forgot about my fear, worry, and anything else in the world. I took at the moment and celebrated being alive.

Each day I’m getting up, and I’m writing. Coronavirus or not, I need to be creative. I need to express myself and share my thoughts with the world.

What about you?

How are you weathering the storm?

We will get past these days and look back on this time with a different perspective. We will read these words and be in a new place.

We will be.

We will.

What do you want to be remembered for?

What art can you create? Or music? What light do you need to shine forth across the world and to stand up and let your laughter ring out amidst all the fear, worry, sickness, and death? What will you do today?

I hope you choose to be your best self today. To remember that our lives are precious and that we are here for such a short time, a blink in the evolutionary timeline.

What joy and beauty can you give to the world today?

Whatever that is, let it shine forth in all its beauty and messiness.
