I am living in a difficult time. Political unrest, blatant racism with white supremacists marching in the streets, and the coronavirus pandemic is worsening as people have pandemic fatigue and are lowering their guard.
Day 236: Losing Hope
When you are working through the problems you’ve had in growing up in an alcoholic/dysfunctional home, there are times when everything can feel overwhelming. Add on top of that the challenges of our day-to-day life and you might lose hope.
Sickness and financial problems can add to your worry and doubt.
Day 201: A Brand New Day
I write this as my city has just left quarantine due to the coronavirus. My family and I were in lockdown for more than 80 days. Now we are starting to come out of our home amid a changing world. The last two weeks have been a hard one for America. Massive protests about the death of George Floyd in Minneapolis have spread out across the globe.
When I take a step back and look at the world, I see that we’re still in the midst of a pandemic and now there’s been a big push for social change.
Day 197: When All Looks Dark
I am still in quarantine due to the coronavirus pandemic, but now America is openly fighting in the streets. I had thought my family and I had adapted to our new way of life in a post-COVID-19 world. But I was wrong. I didn’t think that such violence would be in the streets of American cities.
I am disheartened and fearful.
Day 184: Make It Work
I learned yesterday that the county that I live has had a fairly steady Coronavirus count for the last few weeks. Unfortunately, it appears that my county’s orders for quarantine will need to be extended. Add on top of that, that 2.4 million more Americans filed for unemployment this past week that brings the total to more than 38 million American have filed for unemployment benefits over the last nine weeks.
And we’re crossed, 93,000 deaths from the virus in American with more than 1.5 million cases.
